Land of
Enduring Roots
From the deep black, the color of origins, an ancient silhouette emerges – a bark weathered by time that opens itself to the world. Within beats a heart made of history and bricks: the Fortress of Offagna, coming to life beneath the eternal gaze of the stars.
Like Virgil’s winter-oak, defying storms by stretching its roots all the way to Tartarus and its treetop toward the heavens, our village draws its firmness from an invisible and powerful bond. A sacred tie that Dante Alighieri defined as a “living root”: not a chain that binds, but the vital sap needed to bloom in the present.
The 39ᵗʰ Edition of the Medieval Festival is not a simple reenactment, but an act of contemporary pietas – a way to inhabit history and nourish it day by day, preventing time from wearing it away.
The artwork and festival are both a tribute to all those who came before us, to those who dared to imagine what did not yet exist and, through visions and toil, made it real. To those people who are still, to this day, our enduring roots.
Whoever crosses the village gates will not be a mere spectator, but the lifeblood of a past that, in Offagna, has never stopped being the future.
The village as stage; history unfolds
Offagna

Experiencing the Medieval Festival of Offagna means stepping into the values and traditions of the Middle Ages.
During the festival, the streets of the village turn into a living stage where knights, ladies, craftsmen, and performers bring the past vividly to life.
Every detail – from the costumes to the sets – is carefully crafted with passion, creating an authentic and immersive experience for every visitor.
Certified by The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy Association
Offagna has been certified to be one of Italy’s most beautiful villages and, as a crown jewel of golden stone, rises among rolling hills that tumble down to the sea.
The fortress towers over the landscape that stretches from the Sibillini Mountains to the Conero Riviera.
Here, history is not confined to the past – it lives alongside the present, flowing through its people,
passing from one generation to the next as a living memory.
